Thomas Moonlight
TRENTON, NJ & CARMEL, MAINE—Thomas Moonlight, 96, passed away peacefully Saturday June 26, 2021 at his residence. He was born April 10, 1925 in Ayrshire, Scotland and son of James and Martha (Dodds) Moonlight.
He started out as an apprentice boilermaker and later worked in the Dundee shipyards. During World War II, he honorably served in the Royal Air Force. In 1950, he moved to the United States with his wife Jean and their son James. He was employed at General Motors as a welder and then later as an instructor. He resided in Trenton, NJ and Medford, ME before moving to Pennsylvania in 2004, to be closer to his younger son Terry, following the death of his beloved wife Jean. He returned to Maine in 2020 and resided in Carmel. He was loved by everyone who met him and was happiest when he was with his family; especially his two sons.
He is survived by son James Moonlight, Terry Moonlight and his wife Gail; eight grandchildren Nancy, Lori, Renee and her husband Jimmy, Jennifer and her husband Barry, Thomas and his wife Julie, Stephanie and her husband Mike, Allyson and her husband Michael, Katie and her husband Chip; 19 great grandchildren Paige, Savannah, Sarah, Zachary, Sean, Kaylee, Ian, Sydney, Addison, Taylor, Julian, Jaxon, Chase, Zach, Lauren, Payton, Kaylie, Ryan, and Colin; sister Beatrice Spink and her husband Terry.
He was predeceased by his wife Jean, brother James, and his parents.
A graveside service will be conducted 10:30AM at the Medford Center Cemetery. A reception for the family will be held following the service.
