Milford – THOMAS “TOMMY” JOSEPH DUNN, age 74, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026, from a debilitating disease. He was born on March 25, 1952, to Christine Love and Albert Henry Dunn Jr. He was a graduate of Old Town High School. After graduating he worked as a Cement Finisher at M.D. Hardy and later became a Millwright Planner at Old Town Paper Mill where he made many lasting friendships.
Tommy enjoyed hiking and cross-country skiing in his younger days, and was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman spending much time in the North Maine Woods, and spent a glorious week in Montana with friends for an incredible flyfishing adventure. He was passionate about flyfishing and tied countless flies which he proudly shared with other enthusiasts. He also had a lifelong love for sports and could often be found watching and cheering on his favorite teams, the Red Sox and the Patriots. Tommy and Sandra enjoyed long weekends in Bar Harbor, Bath and Moosehead and took several trips to sunny Florida. And of course, Tommy always had his favorite canine companion Gabe right by his side and was sure Gabe was waiting for him on the other side at the Rainbow Bridge.
Tommy is survived by his loving Life Partner Sandra Lyons, who beautifully cared for him at home until his last breath; his children Kelly Dunn and Casey (Stephen) Cote; his grandchildren Natasha Rowlett, Ashley Rowlett, Derek Hunter, Owen Cote, and Samuel Cote; his great grandson Theo Babin; his siblings Clarence (Belinda) Doucette, Theresa (Jeff) White, Mark (Gail) Doucette, Cindi (Dave) Marley, Eric (Lisa) Doucette, and Albert Dunn III; his step-sisters Theresa Thibeault, and Michelle Castonguay; his step-brother Steve Mavor; Sandra’s son, Nick Lyons, and Adam Lyons; his special cousin Sue Daigle and Bob Murray; his special friend Gary Roy; and his pets Gabe and Zoey.
Tommy is predeceased by his second wife Karen Dunn; his parents Albert Dunn Jr, and Christine Love Doucette, his stepfather Clarence Doucette; and his daughter Olivia Dunn, and stepmother Nancy Dunn.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all who supported Tommy during his illness – especially the daily caregivers who gave him the best hope and care.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, at 11:00AM at Lawndale Cemetery in Old Town, with a luncheon immediately afterward at Birmingham Funeral Home; 438 Main Street, Old Town, Maine 04468. After the luncheon there will be an honor fire (weather permitting) at 229 Fourth Street, Old Town.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Old Town Animal Orphanage (website: www.animalorphanageoldtown.com) where you can indicate that your gift is in remembrance of Tommy which will be reflected under supporter.
