Glenburn – With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Thomas Fredrick Carle, who left us on August 29th, 2026 at home. Born on May 14th, 1949, at the Milo Community Hospital, Tom lived a life full of love, service, and dedication. He is predeceased by his parents, Ester Carle and Thomas Fredrick Carle. 

Thomas's journey in life was marked by his unwavering commitment to family, community, and country. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, reaching the rank of Sargent.

A skilled machinist, Tom graduated from Brownville High School in 1967 and honed his craft at Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. His career included positions at General Electric Company and the Millinocket Foundry. Tom also owned and operated his own Drywall business and worked for Nytech Supply CO, as a supplier.

On April 26th, 1980, Tom married the love of his life Rowena and her two children, Leisa and Dean. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter, raising two children and cherishing time spent with their grandchildren. 

Tom loved motorsports and antique cars. His love for these hobbies was only matched by his joy in sharing them with others. He loved golfing with friends, engaging in long conversations, and embarking on day trips around Maine with his (sweets) Rowena. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

A dedicated member of the American Legion, Tom was a pillar of the community, always ready to lend a helping hand. His warm spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Thomas is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Rowena Carle; stepdaughter, Leisa O'Clair; stepson, Dean O'Clair; sister, Emma Howell; and his beloved grandchildren, Gavin Thomas Spellman, Brycelin Wilson, Nylaina Wilson and Alexandera O'Clair.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17 from 10:00AM to 1:00PM with a Memorial Service at 1:00PM at Birmingham Funeral Home; 438 Main St, Old Town, ME 04468
