Stuart William Lawson OLD TOWN—Stuart W. Lawson, 77, died peacefully February 18, 2025 at his residence with family by his side. He was born November 29, 1947 in Old Town a son of John A. Lawson Sr and Beatrice E. (Gray) Lawson Anderson. Stuart, always a hardworking man, did cemetery work for Old Town Monuments and Johnson Monumental, did cemetery maintenance to include mowing and digging of graves, was employed by the City of Old Town and retired from the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill, Old Town following 22 years of service. He was always puttering on something and doing odd jobs. He is survived by three children Philip Lawson, Gary Lawson, and Alicia Madeiras; nine siblings Patricia, Carole, Joyce, Marietta, Harley, Faline, Valerie, Lorelei, and Crystal; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six siblings David, Paul, John Jr., Peter, Hilbert, and Cheryl. Graveside services at Lawndale Cemetery will be announced in the spring.
