Obituary

Old Town – Stephen A. Taylor, 71, passed away unexpectedly at a Bangor hospital on July 5, 2024. Stephen was born on January 5, 1953, in Old Town, the son of Alfred and Henrietta (Lavoie) Taylor. Stephen grew up in Old Town and graduated from Old Town High School, class of 1971. The day after high school, he went to work at the mill in Old Town. After over 40 years of dedicated employment, he transitioned from the mill to work with the family to help open Marquis heating. Following years of dedication between the mill and 29 years at Marquis heating, he finally retired in 2022 from working. While he may have worked a lot, he did enjoy spending time with his family, going to the races at Speedway 95, gardening, snowmobiling and was active with the snowmobiling association. Stephen is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia (Willett) Taylor; daughter, Myranda Legere and her husband Joe; grandchild, Jenna Legere and boyfriend Cole Robinson; great-grandchildren, Steve J. Robinson and Elizabeth A. Robinson; siblings, Josephine Randall, James Taylor, Jeanne Marquis, Eleanor LaBree and Dolores Stone; special dog, Sweetie and many nieces a nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Estelle Levesque; brother-in-lawn and best friend, Bob Marquis; brother-in-law, Linwood Randall; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Taylor; niece, Jessie Marquis and his other special dog, Chole. Friends and family may call on July 18, 2024, from 4-7PM at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, ME.
