KENDUSKEAG - Sherry L. Fletcher, 61, died July 25, 2013, with her family by her side after a battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Old Town, daughter of Stanley and Phoebe (Emerson) Wade.

Sherry spent most of her working life in shoe factories but really felt at home as part of the housekeeping team at St. Joseph hospital. She was employed at St. Joseph for 11 years prior to her illness forcing her to retire, gaining endless amounts of friends and new family. If Sherry wasn't cleaning house, she was working with her flowers. She was the type of person that would solve any problems and bring people together. She really enjoyed her annual Christmas party and loved to see everyone together.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 38 years, John Fletcher Sr.; son, John Fletcher II and wife, Mallory, of Edmunds; sister, Donna Fletcher and husband, Arthur, of Kenduskeag and their children, April, Dickie, Arthur II and their families; endless extended family members; and a close friend, Karen Austin. She was predeceased by her parents. The family wishes to thank the housekeeping family and all staff at St. Joseph Hospital who touched her heart.

Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Monday, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 North Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Burial will be afterward at Williams Cemetery, Bradford.
