Glenburn- Sharon Soucie passed away on March 25, 2026 at the age of 73.
She was born on January 13, 1953, in Old Town, Maine, to parents Edmund and Agnes Cyr. She attended St. Joseph's School as a child and continued her education through the Old Town school system for high school. In June of 1972, she married the love of her life, Philip Soucie.
Throughout her life, Sharon held many roles and jobs, including business management and secretarial work for the University of Maine, Eastern Maine Medical Center, Civil Engineering Services, the Old Town School District, and the Glenburn School District.
Sharon enjoyed cross stitching, diamond painting, jigsaw puzzles, and reading books, especially mysteries. She loved nature and spending time outdoors, often hiking trails, walking, or snowshoeing around her home and through the woods on her property. She even created her own trail and set up a trail camera to watch the wildlife. In recent years, she looked forward to annual family trips to Camp in Greenville.
She had a sharp mind and a great sense of humor, always ready with a joke and maintaining a positive outlook. Sharon was always busy and had a talent for multitasking. She enjoyed learning new skills and pursuing different interests over the years, including taking part in a welding course, basketmaking, ceramics, clogging, and even a self-defense class.
Many of these activities came from her social nature. Sharon enjoyed connecting with others and was active in her community. She volunteered for three different food cupboards and, in later years, reconnected with members of her graduating class and spent time socializing with them.
Above all, Sharon's greatest pride in life was her family. She shared 54 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Philip, and was a devoted mother to her two sons, Eric and Tim. She was always finding ways to spend time with and support them. She stayed actively involved in their extracurricular activities and even helped with fundraising and chaperoning for Tim's chess club. Anyone who knew Sharon knew how much she loved her boys.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Edmund and Agnes Cyr.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Philip Soucie; her sons, Eric Soucie and his wife Janis, and Tim Soucie; her grandchildren, Summer and Eliot; her brothers, Edmund and Michael; her sister, Ann; and many other family members and friends.
Sharon will be missed deeply by everyone who had the fortune to know her. The lives she touched will forever hold her memory.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date along with a private graveside service in the spring.
