Obituary

ALTON—Rosella J. Dyer, 74, died unexpectedly September 5, 2024 at her residence. She was born October 2, 1949 in Old Town, a daughter of Clarence E. and Mae R. (McLaughlin) Wickett. Rosella's life revolved around her family. She enjoyed spending time with all members of her family, but her grandchildren were especially important to her. Rose was one of the most important people in her kids' and grandkids' lives, providing stability, special treats, and unconditional love. Rose enjoyed spending time at camp, sitting in the quiet, watching the lake and listening to the trees rustle and the birds chirp. She loved going for rides. The highlight of her year was her annual "Damn Glad Club" trips with the girls; she would plan the next trip as soon as she got home from the last trip. She was a snappy dresser who loved flip flops and jeans, paired with flashy jewelry and fun toenail polish. She had a talent for always buying the perfect gift and she gave great hugs. She is survived by her husband, Danny Dyer; children, Cindy Berry and her husband Steve, Scott Ouellette and his wife, Jamie, Lisa Ross and her husband, Stephone; grandchildren, Melissa, James, Lila, Nelson, Damian, and Cody; several great grandchildren; sisters, Doreen Sanborn and her husband, Carlton, Lorna O'Clair and her husband, Alan; brothers, Richard Wickett and wife, Betty, Terry Wickett and his wife, Cristol, Gerry Wickett, Alan Wickett and his wife, Irene, Michael Wickett and his wife, Ginette, Donald Wickett and his companion, Jen; brothers-in-law Wayne Robichaud and Craig Lilley; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by grandchildren, Kayla Heasley and Ryan Heasley; siblings, Jeffrey Wickett, Starlene Robichaud, and Donna Lilley; sisters-in-law, Brenda Wickett and Donna Sapiel Wickett; nephew Shawn Sapiel; and her beloved dog, Sandy. Graveside services will be held at Lawndale Cemetery in Old Town at 11 am on Friday, September 20, 2024. A potluck celebration of life will be held immediately after at the American Legion Hall in Orono (no alcohol).
