Dresden-Roseann Mae Cochrane, 76, passed away January 22, 2023 , at her home with her family by her side after a short battle with cancer. Roseann was born May 30, 1946 in Old Town, the daughter of Lillian Bernice (Knowlton) Emerson and Alfred Alvin Emerson. She attended Bradley schools and graduated from Old Town High School in 1964. She married her husband, Dennis Neil Cochrane in Bradley October 3, 1964. Roseann grew up in Bradley were she lovingly kept four brothers in line as the eldest child and only girl. She married her high school love and they raised two children in the home they built together in Milford. Roseann worked for the Bradley Post Office as a mail clerk. She worked for the City of Old Town as administrative assistant to the Town Manager. When they purchased their first family business, Jack's Restaurant, she dove into the restaurant industry serving their Old Town family and friends for years. Much love, laughter, family parties and hard work occurred at their business. She also worked at Guay's restaurant following Dennis there. They purchased Burr's General Store as their second family business at which the whole family again worked. Roseann meticulously kept the books, tagged deer and bear, stocked shelves, ordered supplies and was again waiting tables. Roseann spent many years working for the University of Maine Orono where she was administrative assistant in the Biochemistry Department. Her focus through her career and her entire life was to care for others, an eternal problem solver and true empath. She was a faithful member of the Winter Street Baptist Church in Gardiner where she volunteered every summer with Vacation Bible School. Roseann also volunteered for AARP and at Bridge Academy Library. The joys of her life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Dennis enjoyed being anywhere near the water including years spent at their cottages on Pushaw Lake, hours spent riding the Penobscot River in their boat and countless trips to Bar Harbor or anywhere defined as ocean. In later years, she discovered cruise vacations continuing her love of anything water. Roseann was an active member of the Richmond Senior Center and was there often with her quilting and gaming friends. She was an avid theater lover and was ready to grab her purse and go at any opportunity to see a show. She also loved tending her vegetable and flower beds. Roseann is survived by her son, Dennis Cochrane II and wife Bridie of Portland; daughter, Christine Wolfe of Richmond; two grandsons, Brandon Wolfe of Dresden and Tyler Cochrane of Lewiston; great grandson, Neil Cochrane of Limerick; three brothers, Alfred Emerson of Bradley, Danny Emerson and his wife Kathy of Lagrange and Steve Emerson and his wife, Marie, of Texas; brother-in-law, Dwight Cochrane and wife, Linda, of Old Town; many nieces and nephews that ALL held a special place in her heart. Roseann was predeceased by her husband Dennis N. Cochrane of Milford; much loved dog Sage; brother, Bruce Emerson of Aurora. A private family service was held January 29th at Birmingham's Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Benner officiating. Internment will be in the spring at Milford Cemetery.
