Old Town- Roger J. Dionne passed from this world on March 11, 2026, due to squamous cell cancer. He was born on September 28, 1946, in Old Town, Maine, the son of Joseph Dionne and Irma (LePage) Dionne. Roger attended schools in the local area and received his GED later in life. Roger was a good man. He never met a person that he didn't strike up a conversation with and probably know more than they knew about themselves. Roger's work history included local shoe shops in the area, construction, Great Northern Paper Mill in Millinocket, and finally the University of Maine at Orono. Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years, along with camping. He is predeceased by his father, Joseph Dionne; mother, Irma Violette; brother, Danny Dionne; sister-in-law Renata Dionne; and niece Corrine Doucette. He is survived by his loving wife, Dotty (Nadeau) Dionne; brothers Bob and wife Orilla Dionne, Reggie Dionne, and Ricky and wife Elicia Dionne; sister Sharon and husband Cleave Freeman; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his canine family Princess, Misty, Shelby, Kaalua, and Maddie. A celebration of life will be held at Birmingham Funeral Home on March 20th with visitation starting at 10 and a service at 11.
