Richard Leo Lafayette, Sr.

OLD TOWN- Richard Leo Lafayette Sr, 84, went home to be with his Lord June 11, 2026. He was born December 22, 1941 in Oakland, California a son o Leo J. and Mable E, (Gamble) Lafayette.

Richard proudly served with the US Navy for nearly 20 years. He was an avid James Patterson reader and enjoyed word searches.

He is survived by his very special companion Janet Schulte of Old Town, 2 brothers Ronny Lafayette and his wife Sally of Ohio, and Billy Lafayette of California; son Richard Jr and daughter Rickshella, several nieces and nephews and five special people in his life Chevala and her husband Dana of Hudson, Debbie and her husband Tom of Greenbush, Lisa of Old Town, Brandon Cunningham of Greenville, and Cody Ogden of Hudson.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Wayne.

A celebration of life gathering will be held 5-7PM Friday June 26, 2026 at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town, ME 04468. Richard will be buried at sea with honors provided by the United States Navy,
