Brewer - Rachel A. McDonald, 48, passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2024. Rachel was born on November 5, 1975, the daughter of Roderick and Elizabeth (Phillips) McDonald.
Rachel was the life of the party, and made friends with anyone and everyone. She spent the beginning of her adulthood in the United States Marine Corps, where she quickly earned the rank of Sergeant. While in the Marines, Rachel was a rifle range coach and a sharpshooter. After being honorably discharged from her time in the Marines, Rachel went to school and earned an associates degree in communications.
Rachel's greatest accomplishment was her daughter Elizabeth McDonald Darby. She enjoyed writing, especially poetry and singing karaoke. Rachel was a protector, but unfortunately couldn't protect herself from certain pains and traumas that led her to drugs.
Rachel is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Phillips; stepfather, Floyd Lane, and father, Roderick McDonald; her daughter, Elizabeth McDonald Darby; her siblings, Jessica Paschal, Scottie Gomm, Jeannine Shorette, Lisa King and Joey McDonald; nephew, Blake Daigle; nieces, Kelsey Gallant, Stevie and Mabel Paschal, and a special friend, Sara Finch. Rachel was predeceased by her brother, Stephen Gomm Jr., and girlfriend Sherry Bedard.
Family and friends can gather at Birmingham's for a short ceremony on Monday, October 21st, 2024, from 11-1PM, with a funeral service at 1PM. Immediately following the service, Rachel will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Milford Cemetery, Milford, ME.
