Indian Island - Junebug Francis, 29, has joined the Great Creator. He was born January 29, 1987, in Bangor a son of Ruth Elaine (Mitchel) Francis and Paul A. Francis Jr. Junebug was a talented musician and artist. He will be remembered for his deep love and passion for his native traditions and native dance. His artistic flair was seen in everything he did from art, to guitar playing, to his cooking. He sold his artwork in Bar Harbor during the summer months and he worked in local restaurants as a talented cook. Above all else, he was an amazing dad to his son Hunter. He is survived by his son Hunter, Hunter's mother Britt-Lee Umbro; his father Jr.; sister Becky Jo Cummings-Thompson and her husband Jerry; brother Gary Leidahal sister Kristine Jarnich; nieces and nephews Amber Jones, Stephen Cummings, Ricky and Nicholas Feero, Taylor and Kyla Cummings, Dezarae Ritter; special cousins Patti Francis, Sonya Francis-Joyce; aunts Barbara, Dianne Bronson; uncles Dougie Francis and Patrick Francis; many cousins and extended family members. He was predeceased by his mother Ruth Francis; sister Sandy Theriault, and brother John Cummings. A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at the Community Building on Indian Island. Burial will follow at Tribal Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a warm heartfelt thank you to DEEMI, the Brick Church, Robert Kearns, and the entire community who helped to locate and bring Junebug home. We cannot thank you enough!
