Old Town–Patricia Marlene Doucette, 83, went home in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father December 22, 2025. Patricia was born February 1, 1942, the daughter of Donald and Ruth (LaGasse) Burke.
Family was everything to Patty. She was a devoted and loyal wife, a loving and caring mother, a protective and over-indulgent grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. Caring for others was the steady thread woven through Patty's life. For thirty years, she devoted her heart and time to the University of Maine's child care program. Long after they had grown, former attendees still recognized and remembered her. One of her proudest achievements was obtaining her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential from the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition, a reflection of her dedication to early childhood education. Beyond her professional work, she lovingly watched over many neighborhood children and became a second mother to all. Patty found joy in staying connected to her community through the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies of St. Ann, local bowling leagues, line dancing groups, and serving meals at the Parker Dining Hall in Orono. A devoted member of Holy Family Church, she especially enjoyed volunteering at the thrift shop. Around the holidays, her kitchen became a place of comfort and tradition, with her chocolate peanut butter fudge and peanut butter balls becoming a cherished Christmas treat for all who were lucky enough to receive them.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years Edward Doucette; daughter Lisa Bragg; daughter Julie Boulanger; daughter Michele Bowers and her husband Carl; brother Donald Burke, Jr and his wife Charlene; grandson Kyle Bragg; granddaughter Taylor Cammack-Bowers, her husband Brandon, and great granddaughter Daphne; sisters-in-law Rose Cote and Charlene Jackson, brother- and sister-in-law Fran and Jan Doucette; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Autumn of Life, Visiting Angels, and Jannie for the loving and compassionate care provided to Patty.
