Obituary

MILFORD—Norman Jospeh Russell, 84, died peacefully November 30, 2024 at his residence. He was born March 4, 1940 in Old Town a son of Wilfred Russell and Celia (Roy) Russell Solon. Norman joined the Air Force following high school and retired as Chief Master Sergeant, Maine Air National Guard, after 40 years of service and he retired from the Penobscot County Sheriffs office. One to never sit still, in retirement, Norman worked construction for two of his nephews and worked at Bryant construction. Lastly, as a volunteer at the Caring Community Cupboard, Old Town. He also ran the Knights of Columbus Bingo for over 40 years and was a great auctioneer. Norm was a wonderful husband, father, step-father, brother, papa, uncle and friend and was loved by all who knew him. "Fly high, you are free to go fishing with Charlie. Hold Natasha til I get there!" A funeral service will be conducted 2PM Saturday December 7, 2024 at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where friends may call from 12 Noon until time of service. Interment, with military honors will be conducted at the Cardville Cemetery, Greenbush.
