Michael J. "Mike" Cleary OLD TOWN, ME— Mike Cleary, 61 passed away on May 12, 2020 at home surrounded by family, friends, a canopy of plants, and his bird Missy after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 18, 1958 in Michigan a son of John M. and Donna (Lyford) Cleary. Mike moved to Maine a decade ago and was often times with his brother Billy, who gave Mike great friendship and support. Shortly after arriving in Maine, Mike was quickly adopted into the Tibbits family and family business, completing many beautiful home renovations and leaving a lasting imprint in his community. Mike was a small-town, loving, gentle man that became the go-to-guy to fix anything and help anyone. He took pride in his work. He had many accomplishments like renovating his kitchen into a bird sanctuary. He loved people (mostly blondes) and his unstoppable energy, and a compassionate spirit resonated with those who met him. He loved to watch NASCAR, soap opera's and the Andy Griffith Show. He was passionate about fishing, fast cars and pushing the limit. He was always ready for everything in a white t-shirt, blue jeans, knee pads, a bright white smile with positive attitude. Mike was a loving father, son, uncle, neighbor and friend. He leaves behind five children Amy, Falon, Sean, Michael and Amber; six grandchildren Emerson, Hazel, Karmah, Sage, Nora and Colton; his mother Donna, very close friends Jim and Tiffany Tibbits and family, eight siblings and a lifelong best-friend Benny Bensko.
