Obituary

Old Town – Mary Ann E. Bragdon, 94, entered eternal rest with her family by her side on February 12, 2023. She was born in Augusta, Maine on May 19, 1928, the daughter of Frank and Maryanna (Nadeau) Turcotte. Mary Ann was a graduate of Cony high school, class of 1946. Following high school, she pursued and obtained her certificate to be a registered nurse in 1949 for Sisters Hospital school of Nursing. She worked for St. Joseph's hospital and then as a private duty nurse. In between all of that, she stayed at home to raise her family. On September 10, 1950, she married Wendell Bragdon and they spent 45 years together in marriage until his passing in 1995. Mary Ann enjoyed all of the offerings of life. When Wendell was alive, they traveled to Florida for the winters. After his passing, Tim and Mary Ann made the trek from Maine to Florida and back several times as well to keep her snowbird status. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, cooking, knitting and she loved to play cribbage. She is survived by her son, Timothy Bragdon and his wife Elaine; grandchildren, Jonathan Bragdon, Christopher Bragdon, Jennifer Boynton and her husband Gary, Lisa Bragdon and her fiancée James Grant; five great grandchildren, Ricky, Timmy, Dominik, Levi and Michaela and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wendell Bragdon; a son, Michael Bragdon; sisters, Dorothy Cameron and Katherine Phillips; brothers, Leo Turcotte and Raymond Turcotte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Parish of the Resurrection of Lord, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Immediately following the service all are invited to a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Spring burial will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta.
