Old Town -Marie Ange Taylor, 92, went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 1, 2025.
She was born in Frenchville, Maine, November 11, 1932, the daughter of Zephirin
and Yvonne (Gauvin) Boutot.
Marie was educated in Quimby, Maine. She worked in the Old Town shoe shops,
starting at Moose River Shoe Shop. It was there that she met Kenny in 1952, and
started their lifelong journey together. They were married July 3, 1954, at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church in Old Town. In addition to raising her six children, she
also took care of other children plus her grandchildren. She cooked for many
years at the family business, the Shuffle Inn, with her husband. Marie was an avid
walker well into her nineties, was an avid reader and because of her
husband's passion for golf, Marie took up the sport in her 60's and fell in love with
it. She enjoyed family gatherings especially those with other French Island
families.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kenneth; her parents and brothers:
Lionel, Gerald, Camille, Reggie, Antonio and sister Lillian.
Marie is survived by her children, Glenn and wife Dawn of Bradley, Karen Martell
and husband Randy of Guilford, Donna Taylor-Schmidt of Orono and special friend
Brian, Elizabeth (Betty) Campbell and her husband James of Milford, Rachel
Parent and husband Roger II of Old Town and Cindy Taylor of Hampden. She is
also survived by her brothers, Roland, Rudolph and Albenie and sister Dolores.
She will be missed by several grandchildren, Heather, Gregory, Andrew, Kristina,
Eric, Heidi, Kailey, Justin, Hilary, Taylor and Korey and great grandchildren, Lydia,
Jacob, Aiden, Emma, Olivia, Ellie, Lyle, Alex, Nick, Finn and Fitz. The family would
like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at The Meadows for their
exceptional care of our mom and making her feel like she was at home. Also
special thanks to Beacon Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 11,
2025 at The Parish of The Resurrection of The Lord, Holy Family Church, 429 Main St. Old Town, ME. Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the service in
the parish hall directory behind the church.
