Obituary

Old Town – Lynette (Jackson) Michaud Pete, 92, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024, at Orono Commons. Lynette was born in Alton, at The Annie Carr Maternity home to Andrew and Charlotte Jackson. She grew up in Alton and graduated from Old Town High School. Lynette married her true love G. Robert Michaud (Bob). Together they had eight children, Bob Jr., Marie and husband, Phil Richards, David, Ann Canas, Leo and his wife Jessie, Jeff and Sherry, Tom and Theresa, Tim and his wife, Alejandra. Lynette worked for years at Penobscot shoe company, where she excelled as a hand stitcher. She was a hard worker and after losing her husband, she worked as a home health worker, a seamstress out of her home for many customers, an excellent baker at the Bread Basket and then opened a bakery out of her home. She had many loyal customers who enjoyed her fresh baked goods and pies. Lynette was also famous for making all the donuts for the Alton Methodist church breakfast and will also be remembered as a devoted matron for the Junior Grange. Lynette loved spending the summers with her family at Pushaw Lake, loved to read, do sudoku and jigsaw puzzles and also enjoyed knitting and crochet. She donated many hours and lots of yarn to make over 80 prayer shawls for the church. Lynette was predeceased by her first husband, G. Robert (Bob) and her second husband, Raymond Pete and two sons, Bob and David. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a special sister, Eloise McLaughlin; nieces, nephews and many friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Orono Commons for the love and great care that she received while there. Friends and family may call on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, from 12-1PM. A service will be conducted at 1PM at the funeral home and immediately following the service, the family invites you for a time of continued fellowship at the funeral home until 3PM.
