Jean Lewis "Louie" Malenfant
MILFORD—Jean Lewis "Louie" Malenfant, 91, died peacefully May 17, 2021 at the Maine Veterans Home Bangor. He was born July 17, 1929 in Old Town a son of Charles and Beatrice (Michaud) Malenfant.
Mr. Malenfant was a graduate of Old Town Academy and then proudly served in the military. He was very proud of his country. Upon discharge, he went to work at Pratt and Whitney (Connecticut), met the love of his life Faye Lois Nicholson, and together they moved back to Old Town where they were married and raised three children. In 1958 he started Malenfant's Gulf station with his dad Charlie which flourished to include propane, coal and home heating oil, now known today as Malenfant's Fuel. Louie was dedicated to his community and was proud of his sons continuing on the Malenfant's Fuel legacy along side of him. He enjoyed a great time and spent many years devoted to the Old Town VFW. Louie, a true Mainer, could be found traveling with his beloved wife and family, camping, and eating lobster rolls and clams with a cold beer. He always had a smile. We will all miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Faye on March 3, 2019 and a brother (who he always looked up to) Joseph Lionel Malenfant. He is survived by his three children Robert Malenfant and his wife Stephanie of Old Town, Michael Malenfant and his wife Penny of Old Town and Lynn (Malenfant) Perry and her husband Frank of Old Town; three grandchildren Adam Malenfant and his wife Amanda, Cody Malenfant, Erika Malenfant; two great grandchildren Cameron Sylvester and Charly (Lou) Malenfant; nieces nephews and cousins.
