Old Town, ME. Lois C. Morin, 95 died peacefully on May 4, 2024, at her home in Old Town, ME with family present. Lois was born on October 18, 1928, in Old Town. She attended Old Town Schools and graduated from Old Town High School in 1946. She completed a medical transcriptionist course at EMVTI, was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Brownie Scout leader for several years, and a secretary for RJ Morin, Inc. She was an accomplished seamstress and made quilts and clothing. She loved the performing arts and attended The Polly Thomas school of dance. She also studied both classical and Broadway music at the Ann Mills voice studio and the Dale Williams voice studio. She was a member singer and soloist of the Sweet Adelines International group and a singer and soloist for the Bangor Community Chorus for many years. She also performed solos at The Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord on special occasions and performed with the Opera League of Maine and Bangor Community Theater as a guest soloist. She was proud of being an impromptu guest singer at the popular Don Ho show at Waikiki Beach Honolulu, HI. Lois was also a fashion model for many years and modeled the state of Maine gown in Portland, ME. She also appeared in the Eastern Maine Auxiliary's "Follies 98" at the Maine Center for the Arts. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish ladies auxiliary, K of C Emblem club, and Elks club.
Lois and her husband Bob traveled extensively with trips to England and Ireland, toured the circumference of the United States in their motor home, and spent many winters in Daytona Beach, FL. The family enjoyed trips together and individually at many locations in Maine, other states, and countries. Most notably, the family enjoyed many days together at their camp on beautiful Cold Stream Pond.
Lois's greatest love was her family. She married her lifelong husband Robert on June 17, 1947. They were married for 70 years and blessed with three children, Bruce, Kathleen, and Mark. Lois loved Old Town, the state of Maine, her country, and especially Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her son Bruce Morin and wife Nancy of Milford, ME, their two sons Robert and wife Shawna of Milford, ME, Michael Morin and wife Kristy of Milford, ME, daughter Kathleen Moran, and husband Harry of Madison, MS, and their eight daughters, Hollie Townsend and husband Thomas of Atlanta, TX, Lora North and husband Ken of Flowood, MS, Julie Moran of Madison, MS, Aileen Daghmach and husband Rudy of Madison, MS, Michelle Turner and husband Nick of Haughton, LA, Elizabeth Munroe and husband Russell of Guntown, MS, Emily Wedgeworth and husband Ty of Pearl, MS, Caroline Moran of Madison, MS, son Mark Morin and wife Marilou of Augusta, GA, and nephew Timothy Gnazale of California. Great grandchildren Bryce, Jaidyn, Abby, George, Henry, Isaac, Eli, Luke, and Bronwyn.
Lois was predeceased by her husband Robert .J Morin, her mother Mary B. Arnold, father- in-law Lyman L. Arnold, sister Polly Gnazale, stepsister Patricia Champion, stepbrothers Robert Arnold and Loyd Arnold. The family wants to thank the Visiting Angels, Northern Light Hospice, and especially Patricia Abbott for her love and devotion in caring for Lois during the past 10 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family, 429 Main St. Old Town on, Monday, June 10, 2024 at 10am. Immediately following services, burial will take place as St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
