Obituary

Leo Frank "Jack" Bouchey Old Town – Leo "Jack" Bouchey, 88, passed away on March 28, 2020 at Ross Manor where he resided for 3 years. Jack was born on June 28, 1931 in Mars Hill to Joseph and Sophie (Theriault) Bouchey. He is predeceased by his parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers, his wife of 61 years June (Smart) Bouchey and a son, Stephen Bouchey. He is survived by his son David Bouchey of Holden; a daughter Belinda and her husband Charlie LeGasse of Old Town; a granddaughter, Michele and her husband Lincoln Kenney of Henniker, NH, 3 great-grandchildren Nicholas and Alyson of NH and Lyndsay of Revere, MA. He is also survived by a brother-in-law of Nevada and a sister-in-law of Washburn as well as several nieces and nephews. Jack attended school in Easton and graduated from Easton High School in 1950. In August 1950 he joined the Navy; he was stationed on board a ship as a signalman during the Korean War. He had served for four years and left the Navy with an honorable discharge. After leaving the navy he met his wife June (Smart) Bouchey, they were married in October 1955 and had 3 children. He worked as a linotype operator for 2 different newspaper companies in Aroostook County. Then in 1968, the family moved from Caribou to Old Town where he worked at the University of Maine Printing Press in Orono; as a linotype operator. He loved taking long walks with his wife, he also loved to work on plastic canvas making angels, vases, American Flags etc… A graveside service with military honors will be conducted 1PM Thursday June 11, 2020 at St. Francis Cemetery, 78 Grove Street, Waterville. Social distancing protocols will be in place. The service will be livestreamed through the Birmingham Funeral Home Facebook page.
