Lawrence H. "Johnny" Nadeau, Sr.
ORONO/MILFORD—Lawrence H. "Johnny" Nadeau, Sr., 95, died peacefully at home with family by his side. He was born December 30, 1930 in Orono a son of Ernest and Lillian (St. Peter) Nadeau.
Johnny was a proud Korean War Veteran having served with the United States Air Force, including 19 months in Korea. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He was a harr worked, spending his working career in the construction field as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He worked for various companies including Cianbro and retired from Lane Construction. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed playing Bingo, woodworking, gardening, watching the birds and was an avid deer hunter. His precious kitty Tianna kept gave him companionship until the end.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Helen Nadeau and son Lawrence Nadeau, Jr.
He is survived by five children, sons Norris Nadeau and his fiancé April Robie of Milford and Troy Nadeau and his wife Jodie of Old Town; daughters Tamera Dunaway of Bangor, Kelley Frey and her husband Rodney of Orono, and Ericka Nadeau of Orono; nine grandchildren Nicole, Andrew, Danielle, Devin, Zachary, Ashley, Kristin, Jennifer, and Travis; 11 great grandchildren Riley, Braedon, Madi, Grace, Mason, Caleb, Cameron, Elliana, Audrey, Axton, and Tucker.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kim Khoury Kelley who has been his personal care attendant the last two years, family friend Michelle, Linda from VA Home Health, and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care provided to Johnny.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday June 2, 2026 at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church 429 Main St Old Town. Burial with military honors will be conducted at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
