Judith Karen Mateja ORONO—Judith Karen Mateja, 74, died unexpectedly June 12, 2020 at a local hospital following a very brief illness. She was born August 13, 1945 in Skowhegan, a daughter of Randolph Stolt and Ethelle (Gillis) Stolt Christopher. She was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed as an X-Ray Technician at Cutler Health Center on the University of Maine campus for 42 ½ years and for two years at Concentra Health. She was an amazing Nana to her grandsons Parker and Chase and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed her timeshare in Southwest Harbor. She is survived by her husband of 43 years Phil Mateja; son Jeff Mateja and his wife Heather of Scarborough, two grandsons Parker and Chase; two sisters Mary Ann Witham and Tina Anzelc and three brothers Chris Christopher, Amando Christopher, and Tim Christopher; sister-in-law Sandy Stolt; 9 nieces and 10 nephews. She was predeceased by her father Randolph Stolt, mother and stepfather Ethelle and Everett Christopher; and brother Bob Stolt. There will be no formal services.
