Obituary

Old Town – Judith (Judy) A. Bell, 82 passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024, after a period of declining health. Judith was born in Dover-Foxcroft on June 15, 1941, the daughter of Lawrence and Olive (Clukey) Johnson. Judith grew up in Old Town and attended Old Town Schools. Following school, Judith worked at the Woolen Mill in Old Town before starting her family. Judy loved having her grandchildren over for long weekends and sitting on the deck at the lake watching her family grow. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She felt fulfilled knitting and crocheting scarves for the cancer patients at EMMC hospital. She also enjoyed playing Bingo with friends and family. Judy is survived by her children, Laurie Guay and husband Daniel, Valerie Ahearn and husband George, Verlyn Bell Jr. and fiancée Joann, Corey Bell and wife Barbara, Michelle Hesseltine and husband Scott and Stacey Bell and wife Kimberly; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brother, Brent Johnson and wife Ellen, sister Karen Allen and sister-in-law Gail Bell. She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years Verlyn (Ben) Bell Sr; an infant son, Verlyn Edward Bell; father, Lawrence Johnson, mother, Olive (Clukey) Wardwell and stepfather, Atwood Wardwell. A small family viewing was held on Friday, March 29, 2024 and graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:00am at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Eddington.
