Jolene Erma Wickett BRADFORD—Jolene E. Wickett, 61, died peacefully at her residence with family by her side November 29, 2016 following a courageous and hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born April 20, 1955 in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Harold W and Pauline E (Andrews) Leland. Jolene had a passion for life and sharing time with her family. She enjoyed deer and moose hunting with her husband, it may be said that she was a better shot than Paul. They also enjoyed fishing. She enjoyed her girl time with her daughter and they took trips to New York, London, England and other various places. Jolene was a talented artist in various mediums including painting, wood working, painting wood with acrylics and enjoyed making these crafts for people. Camp always held a special place in her heart from her childhood camp on Schoodic to her camp in Charleston, camp was always her spot. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her grandson enjoyed collecting rocks and treasures with “MeMe”. In addition to her family, her greatest joy was driving her 1965 Dodge Dart convertible, especially in the Bradford Days parade. A strong and proud woman, Jolene never complained, even during all of her cancer treatments. She would simply say “It is what it is”. She served as Worthy Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years Paul S. Wickett; daughter Anna Bryer and her husband Garrett of Bradford; son Scott Wood of Sanford; 9 grandchildren Kelly, Chase, Ben, Gabby, Emilly, Michael, Alexis, Madalyn, and Logan brothers Dave Leland and his wife Sue of Sangerville and Jim Leland of Brewer; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister-in-law Candy Leland. The family wishes to thank the Lafayette Cancer Center doctors, nurses, and staff for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Jolene.
