John Joseph Ewer Sr.

OLD TOWN—John Joseph Ewer, Sr., 73, died peacefully January 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born June 6, 1949 in Bangor a son of John Raymond and Leonie Alice (Jordan) Ewer.

John proudly served in the US Army for three years including a year tour in Viet Nam. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for H.E. Sargent for 45 years. He will be fondly and lovingly remembered as the best grampy and papa to all of his grandchildren. He loved to golf and vacation in the Caribbean.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Norma (Burns) Ewer; son John Ewer Jr and his wife Danielle; step children Cheryl McGovern and her husband Tim, Debra Harris, Bruce Harris and his wife Shirley, Brian Harris and his wife Courtney; 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three siblings Roger Ewer, Joni Webber and Colby Currier and Karen Winslow and her husband Gradie; special niece who provided tremendous care and comfort during his last journey Stephanie Demers; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Gayle Demers and sister-in-law Roxanne Ewer.

There will be no formal funeral services.
