Obituary

Joan Fayle Littlefield Gott, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born in Old Town on October 1, 1929 to Asa Henry Rolfe Littlefield and Mary Ruth (Fayle) Littlefield. Joan grew up on the family dairy farm in Stillwater and graduated from Old Town High School, Husson College and the University of Maine. While at Husson she met the love of her life Edward Gott Jr. and they married August 26, 1950. Joan was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she loved spending time with them. She loved following all of her children and grandchildren in their passions and was so proud of each of them. Family get-togethers for birthdays, holidays and reunions were her favorite times as lots of laughter and good food was shared. Joan and Ed also spent a lot of time camping with family and friends. Teaching was Joan's other passion and she taught many years in the Hampden and Old Town school systems teaching first grade through high school. Joan considered her students her children as well and worked very hard for their success with her dedication to them. Joan was predeceased by her parents Rolfe and Ruth, her husband Ed, her daughter and son in law Brenda and Marty Arsenault, her daughter Karen Gott and her granddaughter Katie. She is survived by her son and his wife Ed and Debbie Gott, her daughter and her husband Sue and Dan Perkins, her daughter Lauree Gott and her wife Becky Bubar as well as her grandchildren Jamie Arsenault, Betsy Follansbee, Ted Gott, Tom Gott, Daniel Perkins, Nate Perkins, Amanda Kinchen and many great grandchildren. We would like to thank all the staff at Westgate Manor for the amazing care that was given to Joan over the years. Your compassion and tenderness was extremely appreciated and noticed by our family.
