Jane Jensen, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026. Jane was born on April 10, 1940, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Harry and Ruth Gleason. In 1984, she made her home in Bangor, Maine, where she spent the remainder of her life building deep roots in the community. Jane dedicated her professional life to caring for others as an oncology nurse, a calling that reflected her compassion, strength, and unwavering empathy. She pursued her education at Husson University and Denver University, achievements she was proud of and that supported her lifelong commitment to service. Outside of her work, Jane found joy in the natural world. She was an avid birdwatcher and gardener, taking quiet pleasure in the changing seasons and the beauty around her. She also had a deep love for opera, which brought her inspiration and comfort throughout her life. Jane is survived by her daughter, Lisl Jensen-Moody; her son, Marshall Jensen; her grandchildren, Hilary Wilkins and Charles Moody; her great-grandson, Lowen Wilkins; and her brother, Mike Gleason. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Robert E. Jensen; her parents, Ruth and Harry Gleason; and her sister, Abigail Gleason. Jane will be laid to rest at Lawndale Cemetery in Old Town. A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
