Obituary

James A. "Jamie" Dufour OLD TOWN—James A. "Jamie" Dufour, 62, died unexpectedly November 5, 2025 at his beloved camp. He was born November 13, 1962 in Bangor a son of Peter Paul and Sara Jane (Pearson) Dufour. Jamie was an avid outdoorsman who found his greatest peace in nature — whether he was hunting, fishing, or spending cherished time at Howe Brook Camp. The quiet beauty of the woods and waters mirrored his own calm and humble spirit. Family was the center of Jamie's world. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, never seeking recognition but always showing up when it mattered most. A man of few words but deep wisdom, Jamie's dry sense of humor and gentle presence brought warmth and laughter to every family gathering. He treasured time spent together — from simple dinners to joyful family vacations, many of which revolved around discovering new places to eat. A proud self-proclaimed foodie, Jamie believed that the best memories were made around a good meal shared with loved ones. He also adored his granddogs, Pippa and Goose, who never failed to bring a smile to his face. Jamie was a proud graduate of Old Town High School, the University of Maine in Orono, and Franklin Pierce School of Law in Concord, New Hampshire. He dedicated over 30 years to practicing law in the greater Bangor area, where his integrity, kindness, and steady professionalism earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. He retired as a partner at MacDonald, Chase, and Dufour in Bangor, leaving behind not only a successful career but a legacy of compassion and quiet strength. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Alison (Reynolds) Dufour; three children Tyler Dufour and his wife Renee, Joshua Dufour, and Alexa Gould and her husband Timothy; father Peter Dufour; mother-in-law Theresa Reynolds; siblings Jeffrey Dufour and his wife Marie; Julie Dufour and her partner Michelle Bittrich, Jill Dufour, and Jodi Lott and her husband Jason; loving and supportive Reynolds family; many nieces and nephews.
