Obituary

Milford– Helen Mae Oliver (Stormann), 90, was born in Old Town on March, 12th 1935 to Clyde Stormann and Dorothy (Hutchinson) Coiley. The second of five children, she graduated from Old Town High School in the class of 1955. As a young adult she worked at Old Town Shoe Co., followed by Samson's in Orono then Hannaford where she retired. Helen is predeceased by her parents, husband Lloyd "Chubby" Oliver Jr.; stepfather Charlie Coiley Sr.; brothers Clyde "Pate"r Jr., Harvey Sr and his wife Barbara Stormann, and Charlie Coiley; brother-in-law Fred Savoy; sister-in-law Janice and Cecil Simon; great-grandchildren Devin Lane and Katherine Libby. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Libby and her husband Ralph, and Kimberly Garceau; her best friend and older sister Alfreda Savoy, sister-in-law Sandy Stormann; grandchildren Thomas "TJ" Murphy Jr., Ryan Libby and his wife Julie, Anna and Rebecca Garceau, and Timothy Libby and his wife Ashley; great-grandchildren Collin, Mason and Jillian Libby, Amelia and Dexter Lane, Alizah and Nora Murphy, RJ Staples, and Gina Phi and Lexie; as well as many special nieces and nephews. Helen married Chubby in 1956, and quickly started their family purchasing a home with Alfreda and Fred blending their families together. Later in life, along with her husband Helen moved to a house on Pushaw Lake. There they raised two of their grandchildren TJ and Sarah. Helen loved to travel with her best friend and older sister. Helen, Alfreda and Fred went on several cruises and to Aruba. She loved walking and tanning on a sandy beach. In addition to traveling, Helen loved cooking and baking in any aspect, even if it was just to sit down and read through a cookbook. She was well known for her delicious and heart warming meals, but was best known for her amazing fudge. The family would like to thank her daughter Kimberly who took amazing care of Helen the last two years and the excellent medical team at Bristol Hospice for their kindness the last few months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Animal Orphanage in Old Town in Helen's name. A burial at Lawndale Cemetery will take place Sunday, October 5th, 2025 at 11am followed by a luncheon at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street in Old Town 12:15pm-2pm.
