BROWNVILLE, Maine – Harry G. Owens Jr., 90, was born Feb. 19, 1928 in Naugatuck, Conn. and passed away peacefully at home July 19, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Butnor Owens, and their five children, Cindy Behuniak and husband John, of Brownville, Harry Owens III and wife Bertha, of Northfield, Conn., William Owens and wife Wendy, of Waldoboro, Maine, Philip Owens and wife Marge, of Bethlehem, Conn., and Eileen Law of Southbury, Conn.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Harry was predeceased by his father, Harry G. Owens Sr., his mother Frances Wells Owens, and brother Richard Owens.

Harry worked for the city of Waterbury in the Engineering Department before becoming superintendent of the Watertown Fire District for 25 years. He retired to St. Petersburg and Spring Hill, Fla.

He was member of the Mattatuck Drum Band for many years as a fifer. Harry was an Army veteran.
