Old Town - Goldie E. Spencer, 89, wife of the late Leslie J. Spencer passed away peacefully on December 24, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 31, 1921 in Old Town the daughter of Joseph and Lizzie (Hanscom) Mishou. Goldie was a devoted and loving mother who enjoyed playing bingo, cards, knitting hats and mittens for family and donating them to needy families, and she was also an avid Red Sox fan. Goldie is survived by her son Harland Spencer and his wife Cathy of Milford; her daughter Gloria Wadleigh of Old Town; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Spencer and wife Karen, Jennifer Abbott and her husband Darin, Steve Spencer, Michelle Chappelle and her husband Doug, Dawn Carder and her husband Steve; 7 great grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Spencer, Kyle and Ashley Abbott, Kendra and Christopher Chappelle, and Nicole Carder; one special niece Jeri Mishou, and her good friend Elsie Davis. In addition to her parents and husband, Goldie is predeceased by son in law Lynwood Wadleigh; 9 brothers, Harry, Roland, Vinal, Jerome, Forest, Carlise, Clarence, Clayton and Clinton; and one sister, Lillian. A special thanks to her daughter, Gloria for all the care and comfort she continually gave to her mother. At Goldie’s request, there will be no funeral services at this time, but a graveside service will be announced at a later date.
