HUDSON - Glenna C. Brasslett, 92, died December 26, 2014 at an Orono health care facility. She was born May 10, 1922 in Parkman a daughter of Percy and Mabel (Wheaton) Vinson.
Glenna will be remembered for her cooking, canning, crocheting, knitting and taking care of her family. She enjoyed walks on her property, and taking day trips to see the many Maine sites. She volunteered at the Holy Family Parish Thrift Shop and was a past member of the Pushaw lake snowmobile club. Glenna was elected as Tax Collector for the Town of Hudson in March of 1955, elected Town Treasurer in 1956, and Town Clerk in 1957, She held these three positions until going to work in the Office of the Superintendent of School for MSAD#64, retiring in 1985. She also was a Notary for the Town of Hudson and at the time of her death she was the oldest living resident of Hudson. She has lived in Hudson since 1944 and had worked for her father's store that is now known as Roger's Market.
She is survived by four children Ronald Brasslett and his wife Elaine of Dexter, Sharon Junkins and her husband Ron of Hudson, Duane Brasslett of Old Town, and Gary Brasslett and his wife Cindy of Medway; 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchilden; sister Evangline Hanson of Portland; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter Brasslett in 1997, a son Dale Hamilton, brother Donavon Vinson, and sister Alma Dunton.
Friends may call 6-8PM Sunday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Monday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Immediately following the service all are invited to the Parish hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Spring burial will be at the Pushaw Cemetery, Hudson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Resurrection Parish building fund 429 Main St Old Tow 04468 .
