Old Town – George Quinn Violette passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2026, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born to Leon and Bernice (Moore) Violette on November 26, 1949, in Old Town, Maine. He was a hard worker and started working at the age of 16.
George married the love of his life, Evelyn (Goodall) Violette. He had four children; three sons, Jamie Goodall, Andy Goodall, and Jason Buzzell, and one daughter, Cynthia Buzzell.
Family meant a lot to George. He loved his grandchildren dearly. He had a wall dedicated to all the art and pictures they gave him. He also enjoyed watching television, specifically westerns, wrestling, and the Patriots. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is predeceased by his parents, Leon and Bernice Violette; and his daughter Cythnia Buzzell; his brothers James Violette, and John Violette.
He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Violette; his sons Jamie Goodall of Old Town, Andy Goodall of Butner North Carolina, and Jason Buzzell of Portland. His grandchildren Amariah, Abigail, Britannia, Evangeline, Seamus, Virginia of Old Town, and Ryan of Portland.
A special thank you to Dr. Houlihan and the Northern Lights Hospice team for all the care that was given to George and his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 3, 2026, starting at 4:30pm at the American Legion; 20 N Water St, Old Town, ME 04468.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in George’s name to American Cancer Society.
George leaves behind his heart and many memories to his family and friends.
