George A. Lozier Jr.
Old Town—George A. Lozier Jr., 87, died peacefully December 12, 2010 at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 11, 1923 in Old Town and son of George Sr and Edna (Page) Lozier.
He was a graduate of Old Town High School and Husson College. George was a proud WWII Veteran having served with the US Navy aboard the USS Boston. He served as the code enforcement officer for Old Town, Milford, and Bradley for over 30 years and held various positions at Penobscot Federal Credit Union. He was an active member of Holy Family Church and served as Eucharistic Minister for many years and was very active with the Knight of Columbus, Fr. Druillette Council, Fourth Degree. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting fishing, golf, and camp. George will be fondly remembered for his warm personality, great sense of humor, and love of family. He enjoyed his cats Binky, and Siamese Ceasar and Raja.
He is survived by a daughter Christine Jenkins; 6 grandchildren Rob Jenkins, Stephanie Shook, Michelle Bear and her husband Robert, Melissa Burns and her husband Ken, George Bailey and his wife Amy, and Timothy Bacon; 6 great grandchildren Robbie, Corey, Abigail, Elizabeth, George and Hunter Michael; a sister Leonardean Burr. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis in 2009 and a daughter Deborah Campbell in 2004.
Friends may call 6-8 PM Thursday December 16, 2010 at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main Street Old Town where members of the Knights of Columbus will recite prayers at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Friday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church. Interment will be at Lawndale Cemetery. Immediately following the service all are invited to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
