Milford – Gary Goodwin, 43, passed away unexpectedly in his Milford home on August 11th, 2025. Born August 29th, 1981, to parents Cindy Curtis and Lloyd Goodwin in Bangor, Gary was a bright light in the lives of many and will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.
Gary is survived by his wife Cheri, their children Logan and Liam; brother Randy and his wife Lindsay; sister Jessica; his mother Cindy; stepmother Joan; his Grammy; aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd; stepfather Bob; and his beloved furry friend Loki.
Gary graduated from Old Town High School in 2000 and while he was in school, he was a whiz kid. He was a member of the math league and chess club. As an adult, Gary loved video games, computers, hiking, and the things his family and friends remember him most for: talking and board games. Gary would talk your ear off. No matter who you were, after meeting and having a conversation with him, you were a friend. There was no such thing as a stranger to Gary. Board games would go on for hours, no one could beat him at Monopoly. Sometimes it came to cheating to lose just to end the game and go to bed. When he and Cheri first met, the two played cribbage for over 12 hours, and not once did he let Cheri win.
To say Gary loved his children would be an understatement. They were his everything, his world. Gary dedicated his life to his boys. He was a stay-at-home dad, handling stinky diapers, late night bottles or teenage attitudes. Gary was behind his children's back and was their #1 supporter. He was immeasurably proud of everything they did.
The place Gary held in our hearts was immense, and the loss we feel in his absence is indescribable.
No public services will be held at this time. The family is requesting privacy during this time as they process the loss of Gary.
