FRANCES X. MISHOU Frances Mishou, 89, took her last breaths surrounded by her family in her beloved home on May 13th, 2026. She was born March 12, 1937 in Orono a daughter of Henry and Catherine (Gonyar) Clement. After graduating from John Bapst High School, class of 1956, she attended Eastern Maine Vocational School where she received her CNA certification and then continued on to work at EMMC until she retired in 1996. She was well known and loved in her community, and she immensely enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, and attending TOPS with her best friends Louise Depew and Joan Stinson. She could always be found by her pool in the warmer months, and never turned down a good day of shopping. She was full of spirit and sass, and put up with her family's antics with a smile on her face - most of the time. Frances welcomed everyone into her home and loved to brag about all of her children and grandchildren. She was so proud, and loved watching them in all aspects of their lives, from school sporting events to backyard games. She will be greatly missed as everyone's favorite cheerleader, shoulder to lean on, and gossip queen. The First Lady of Stillwater. Frances was predeceased by the love of her life, Kenneth Mishou, her brother Bill Clement, sisters Alice Bower, Joan Hatch, and Louise Balstad, grandson Blake Mishou, as well as other beloved family members. She is survived by her five children, Donna Comstock and husband Douglas of Bangor, Richard Mishou and wife Angela of Old Town, Joseph Mishou and wife Nadine of Milford, Minnie Marquis and husband Robert of Old Town, and Timothy Mishou and wife Kimberly of Greenbush; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; Jason Mishou, wife Sarah and their children Jason and Jonathan; Derek Mishou, partner Shelley Hicks and their children Bradley, Bailey, and Catherine; Megan Strout, husband Mike and their daughter Rhyan; Katherine Mishou; Courtney Potvin, husband Devin and their children Xavier, Zachary, and Xander; Stephen Comstock and wife Brittney; April Marquis and fiance Brian Harris; Cory Marquis, wife Liz and their children Myles and Coral; Stephanie Comstock and partner Megan Clement; Brianna Harmon, husband Nicholas and their daughter Caroline; Zachary Mishou and fiance Jami O'Clair and their children Olivia, Jack, and Wesley; Brooke Sylvia, husband Cody and their daughter Emma; Brandi Turner, husband Travis and their children Maddison, Kadence, Chloe, Mason, and Nolan; Jordan Holmes, partner Tara and their son Revan; a brother Stephen Clement and wife Ann of Louisville, KY; as well as special friends Nancy Climo and Paul Hatch; many nieces and nephews. . A funeral will be held 1PM Wednesday at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main Street Old Town where friends and family will gather from 11AM until time of service. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
