BANGOR - Florence M. Kennedy passed away on December 14, 2021. Flo was born in New Jersey in 1930, the daughter of Clarence and Florence (Whitworth) Shirley. She moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1949. She resided there until 2018, when failing health made it necessary for her to move to Bangor to be near family. Flo believed in helping others. Besides holding down a paying job, she had several volunteer positions, such as working at the St. Pete Free Clinic, St. Luke's Food Pantry and helping build a church on Abaco Island. She had a small immediate family but a large circle of friends she considered her family. She will be greatly missed by all. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Edith Shirley Kwiatkowski; and brother, William Shirley. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy and son-in-law, Jim Zeman, of Bucksport; along with several nieces and nephews. Also her beloved companion, Tabby. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Winterberry Heights, Kindred Hospice and Visiting Angels for their compassionate and loving care. Funeral service will be private.
