Milford- Ella Marie (Hamel) Rackliff, 86, died December 5, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 7, 1939, in Milford, Maine, the daughter of Joseph and Elgie (Kelley) Hamel.
Ella worked as an Aide at Orono Nursing Home in Orono and was also employed at Grants in Old Town. After having children, she worked at the University of Maine for many years until her retirement. Ella enjoyed spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, doing her daily puzzles, and playing cards. She especially liked spending summers at camp on Springy Pond.
She is survived by her 5 children, Anne Gould and her husband David of Winterport, Maurice Rackliff of Milford, Joseph Rackliff and Tammy of Stonington, Cynthia D’Angelo and her husband Henry of Argyle, Kathy Hawes and her husband Mike of Surry. Her 9 grandchildren Catie Gould, Becky Arnold and her husband Seth, Sam D’Angelo, Adam Gould, Fara Dutton and her husband Toby, Emilia McCluskey, Andrew Rackliff, Ben Hawes, Nick Hawes and her 2 great grandchildren Ethan and Jensen Dutton. She is also survived by a brother David and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Maynard Rackliff Sr, brothers Alfred, Charles, Arthur Edward, Raymond, Arthur Otis, James, sisters Beatrice, Mary, and Frances.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Saturday, December 20th at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church 429 Main St Old Town. Immediately following the funeral mass, all are invited to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Spring burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
