OLD TOWN - Earl Page Shorey, 92, passed away March 10, 2015, at a Bangor hospital. Earl was born April 15, 1922, in Lowell, Maine, son of George W and Bessie (Cunningham) Shorey. Earl lived most of his life in Pea Cove (Old Town), and was honored to serve his country in World War II. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Gloria M (Briggs) Shorey; five sisters, Jennie Willett, Lucy Shorey, Pauline Howe, Thelma Trundy and Erma Hilchey; and two brothers, Walter and Clifford Shorey. He is survived by five children, Linwood and his wife, Carla Shorey, of Corinth, Peggy and her husband, Glen Kennedy, of Greenbush, Maynard and his wife, Merlita, of Groveland, FL, Douglas and his wife, Barbara Shorey ,of Old Town and David and his wife, Susan Shorey, of Old Town; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leota Peavey of Corinth and Marion Cook of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Meadows for their generous love and care of Earl over the last five years. Friends and family may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at the Cardville United Pentecostal Church, 148 Cards Ridge Road, Greenbush. A private burial will be held in the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery.
