Glenburn - We are here to remember the life of Dustin A. Nevells, a man whose laughter was as infectious as his love for a good prank. Born in Bangor, Maine on September 26, 1988, to Terry (Scribner) Nevells and Mark Nevells. Dustin was a walking paradox: a craft-cup-making, joke-cracking, football-loving, culinary genius who answered emergency calls for a living.
He attended school in Glenburn, grades K-8 before moving onto to complete his four years at Orono High School, where he made many memories and friends, graduating in 2007. His fondest years were spent in high school and included playing football for the Red Riots where he was nicknamed "The Manimal", as well as getting selected to play in the Lobster Bowl his senior year.
Dustin was a witty and creative soul, always ready to lighten the mood with a quick one-liner or zinger. He loved cooking and baking, a passion that led him to earn a culinary arts degree from Eastern Maine Community College, after earning a criminal justice degree from Husson University. He then took a detour to become a dispatcher for the Department of Public Safety Regional Communications Center in Bangor.
Outside of work, Dustin was a fun-loving and resilient individual. He was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge #124 in Charleston, a tribute to his love for community service. His hobbies included making cups and selling them at craft fairs, and he derived immense joy from riding his motorcycle. Dustin was also a man who loved tattoos, almost as much as he loved his four-legged "girl," Ginger.
He is survived by his mother, Terry Nevells; his father, Mark Nevells and his wife Barbara; his sister, Nicole Bagley and her husband Taylor; his stepsister, Jessica Freeman and her husband Ryan; stepbrother, Brent Andrews Jr. and his wife Caitlin; his nieces and nephews, Mya and Mason Bagley, and Natalee and Martin Freeman; grandmother, Jean Scribner and his four-legged "girl," Ginger and many aunts and uncles. He is predeceased by his grandfather, Peter Scribner; his grandparents, Gertrude and Donald Nevells Sr. and his other four legged "girl," Gouda.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St. Old Town, ME from 11-1PM. A Celebration of Life and Masonic Service will be held at 1PM.
Dustin was a man who lived his life with humor and exuberance, and his memory will continue to bring a smile to our faces. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos to the memorial page, to celebrate his life and the laughter he brought into ours.
