Obituary

Dominic James Grant, 18, of Millinocket, left this earth too soon due to a tragic ATV accident on August 24th, 2024. Dominic was born on March 12th, 2006 in Bangor, Maine, where he and his mother resided before moving "home" to Millinocket in 2017. Dominic, affectionately known as "The Dominator" by family & friends, had a charismatic personality. He had a magnetic charm about him that drew people in. You never saw him without a smile on his handsome face or hearing his contagious laughter that you couldn't help being attracted to. Dom loved the outdoors. From the time he was old enough to walk, he loved anything that had a motor and wheels. He loved trading and selling on his favorite website for dirt bikes, snow sleds and 4-wheelers, along with swapping parts with his buddies. He loved riding them with his family & friends, almost as much as he enjoyed taking them apart and putting them back together again. He was a true mechanic by heart. Dom was so proud of his black GMC truck he bought that had no motor, wheels or back seat. He spent countless hours in his friend's garages, using the money he earned to customize it into how he wanted it to look. He would smile from ear to ear just talking about it and what he was going to do to it next! Dominic graduated from Stearns High School, Class of 2024 and was in the Welding Program at Northern Penobscot Tech Region III in Lincoln during his Junior & Senior years. He became a Certified Welder and was employed at Pelletier's Manufacturing in Millinocket, making parts for their logging trucks. Dominic had a heart of gold and was always ready to help anyone who needed him. His passing has left our hearts shattered, and our lives broken from this loss. Dominic is survived by his father, Jonathan Grant and his loving mother and best friend, Katie Goodwin Grant & her partner, DustanThompson. His Grandparents, Jim (Papa) & Lenie (GiGi) Goodwin and Leighton & Janice Grant. His special extended families, Jeni & Relland Thompson, Tyler, Amanda, Preston & Tucker Thompson, and Dan & Melissa (LaLa) Davies. Dominic also leaves behind his loving aunts, Jamie Goodwin, and Heather Grant & her fiancé Rob Andazola. His cousins, Nicholas & Dayton Bell, and Gage Bulley. Dominic was blessed with many Great Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Countless Friends. Dom will be sorely missed by his beloved pets, Tony, Beau & Lucy. Dominic touched so many lives during his short time on Earth, and was loved by everyone who knew him. A Church Service will be held at the Millinocket Baptist Church, Penobscot Ave, in Millinocket, Maine, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, @ One O'Clock in the afternoon. Donations can be made to: Northern Penobscot Tech Region III, 35 West Broadway, Lincoln, Maine 04457, going towards scholarships in his name to the Welding Program there. To My Precious Dominic: You Are My Sunshine My Only Sunshine You Make Me Happy When Skies Are Gray You'll Never Know Dear How Much I Love You Please Don't Take My Sunshine Away Love You Forever, GiGi❤️
