Obituary

DAVID PRATT LINCOLN Old Town - David Pratt Lincoln, husband of Wanda Lee Lincoln and longtime resident of Old Town, ME, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 9, 2024, at the age of 73, while on vacation in Florida. He was born July 6, 1950, in Bangor, son of Leslie P. Sr. and Lula I. (Hichborn) Lincoln. David graduated from Old Town High School, class of 1968, where he met the love of his life and partner in crime, Wanda Emerson, and they were married in October 1968. David was a salesman and entrepreneur through and through – working for Pepsi, Maine Distributors, and various food brokers, and owning and operating LaGrange General Store, Maine Auto Search, and finally, A+ Motors until retirement. David was the youngest child of 13. His big, loving family instilled the values of family, love, goodness, and humor in him, and throughout his life, he continued to pass on these values to his children and his beloved grandchildren. David adored his precious "girls" – even when they ignored his texts and calls. He loved the Maine outdoors and cherished his time hunting, fishing, and camping with his best buddies. David would always find humor and lighten the mood at the most appropriate – and inappropriate – times. Not a Valentine's Day would go by without David sending a dozen roses to his sweetheart, Wanda. David's humor, wit, and impatience shine brightly in his children, David and Michelle. He loved the USA and was always involved in following the Constitution. Not only was David a wonderful and involved father for Dave and Michelle, but when he became a Grampy, he took the job with so much love. He and Wanda were very much involved in their granddaughters' lives. They tried so hard to be at concerts, dance recitals, swim meets, and birthday parties. Grampy was quite the scalawag when it came to his granddaughters and was always telling them tales of his elusive pet lion Herman. Grampy was always up for an adventure – from setting up a zipline, to letting the girls drive tractors to, most especially, sharing in annual Christmas shopping outings. He also spent time with the girls in the kitchen, helping them make monkey bread, spaghetti sauce, and other yummy treats! His granddaughters will greatly miss Grampy's shenanigans but will always hold these memories dear to their heart. David will be affectionately remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father, incredible Grampy, loyal and kind friend and all around Hell of a good guy! David was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Charles, Leslie Jr. and Gerald; his sisters, Blanche, Irma, Lois, Isabelle, Alice, Carolyn, and Evelyn. He is survived by his wife Wanda L. (Emerson) Lincoln; son, David Lincoln and his wife Mary (Molly) (Henry) Lincoln; his daughter, Michelle Broderick and her husband John (Jack); granddaughters, Maggie Lincoln, Annabelle Lincoln and Sophie Broderick; grandson, Liam Broderick; sisters, Priscilla McPheters and Doris Whitaker; in-laws James Emerson and his wife Donna (Weston), Karen (Emerson) Tarr and her husband David (Scott), Faith Lincoln, and Susan Lincoln; many nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Brian (Bruno) Strout; special friends Steven Kennard and his wife Doreen (Doe), Terry (Bud) Bladen and his wife Ellen, and Gary Drinkwater and his English Springer Spaniel Tootsie Two. Family and friends are welcome to visit and celebrate David's life from 4-7 P.M. Friday, February 23, 2024, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St, Old Town, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024. Following the funeral service, all are invited to the Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family, Church Hall for light refreshments and to share stories and remembrances of David.
