Obituary

Darcy Marie Spencer

OLD TOWN — Darcy Marie Spencer, 39, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, at a Bangor hospital. She was born October 25, 1986, in Old Town, the youngest daughter of Garry and Deborah (Foreman) Spencer.

Darcy lived a life that was not always easy. She faced struggles and challenges that at times made her journey difficult, but those struggles were only part of her story. They did not define the person she was. Beneath them was a warm heart, a sharp mind, a wonderful sense of humor, and a spirit that could bring light and laughter to those around her. Those who knew Darcy best will remember not simply the difficult seasons of her life, but the woman she was through them — caring, intelligent, funny, and deeply loved.

A graduate of Old Town High School, Darcy enjoyed being active and played both soccer and basketball. She loved to swim and, throughout her life, found joy in the simple things. Darcy attended CNA training and worked in several healthcare settings, where her caring nature found a natural place.

Darcy had a special love for dogs and rarely seemed to be without one by her side. Her dogs were her companions, and she especially enjoyed taking them on her daily walks. Those quiet walks were among the simple pleasures that brought her peace.

But above all else, Darcy's greatest love was her son, Jordan. He was the center of her heart and the person she loved more than anything in this world. Her love for Jordan was deep and unconditional, and he will forever carry the love of his mother with him.

Darcy's life reminds us that a person cannot be measured by their hardest days. She was so much more than the struggles she faced. She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a mother, and a friend. She was a woman with hopes, dreams, laughter, a quick mind, and a heart that loved deeply. And now, after a difficult journey, Darcy has found her peace.

In addition to her son, Jordan, Darcy is survived by her parents, Garry and Deborah Spencer; her sister, Lisa Spencer; her sister, Kasey Danforth and her husband, Brett; and their children, Quincy, Griffin, and Sydnie; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandparents.

A celebration of Darcy's life will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday October 17, 2026, with stories and memories being shared at noon, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street, Old Town. Family and friends are invited to come together, share a story, remember Darcy, and celebrate the life of a young woman who was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
