Obituary

Fires burn bright for our husband, father, son, brother, uncle, member of the Penobscot community, and best friend to so many, Christopher Scott Becker. He began his journey of returning to the Creator on Wednesday, June 24th, despite valiant life saving efforts. To meet Chris was to immediately become part of his circle of friends and extended family. He had a gift of making others feel cherished and like you were the most important person in the room.

The truest joys of Chris’ life were spending his days with the love of his life, Jenny, and being a dad to Christiana and Keely. He was so proud of their accomplishments and who they had become as young women. He loved going on adventures across the country with Jenny but was just as happy to come home and weed his garden, paint his minis, have game nights around the dining room table, and hold court outside around the fire.

Chris’ gift of storytelling was unrivaled. When he was out enjoying and sharing a beverage with his BSD work family, he would keep everyone rapt with his tales and his infectious, booming laugh. His hunting and fishing (mis)adventures were his usual topics of choice. More than anything, though, Chris wanted to hear your stories, usually starting the day with, “Did you have any dreams?”

We are not sure yet how to exist without "Becker,” here on earth. His was a robust, celebratory, and oftentimes hilarious life of legendary proportions. He will be missed, and celebrated, at every occasion.

Chris leaves behind the love of his life, Jenny and his daughters Christiana and her fiancé, Brandon Germain, and Keely Nanatasis, his brother Chad and his wife Barb, Sandy and her husband Tom, and his brothers Freddie Jr., Eric and sister Linda. He leaves behind the Oliver Family: Brynn, Joanna, Tyler, Karen, Rick, and his beloved nephews and nieces Ethan, Lucas, Jordyn, Jacob, Julianna, Gabe, Julia, Maya, Matthew and Rosalinda. Chris was predeceased by his father Fred and his mother Janet.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 2, 2026 at 4pm at the Sockalexis Community Center, 16 Wabanaki Way, Old Town, ME, with a potluck Celebration of Life to follow. Donations can be made in memory of Chris, to the Old Town Fire Department 150 Brunswick Street Old Town, ME 04468 and the Old Town Public Library 46 Middle Street Old Town, ME 04468.
