Cheryl Anne Spencer spent four decades teaching English at Old Town High School sharing her passion for the English language - and precision of grammar - with generations of students. She spent recent years knitting hats and mittens for children as well as knitting beloved fisherman sweaters for her family and friends. An avid walker, she wore holes in her soles with the many miles spent walking to and from her favorite Old Town locales grabbing her morning news paper and books from the library.

She passed peacefully, March 19th, after a years long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, and is survived by her bother Micheal, son Andrew, daughter in-law Kellie, and grandchildren Aedan, William and Finnegan.
