Obituary

Greenbush - Catherine Ann Bosse' (Katie), 82, passed away unexpectedly at her home on October 28, 2024. She was the eldest child of the late Alton and Arlene (McDonald) Bosse' of Old Town, ME. Katie graduated from Old Town High School and the University of Maine in Orono, receiving a degree in Social Work. After college, she joined the Vista Program in Haiti and inner city of Hartford, CT. She returned to the University of Maine to obtain another degree in Agriculture. Katie was one of the first female truck drivers to work for H.E. Sargent in Stillwater, ME. She later worked for University of Maine in the Plant and Soil Sciences, where she retired after many years. Katie was an accomplished and creative artist from early on in her life. It was her passion. She received an outstanding award for a Statewide Industry Art show sponsored by Philanthropist, Elizabeth B. Noyce. Katie was an excellent seamstress, knitter and carpenter, plus a lifelong inquisitive learner. She chose to live off grid and live a simple life in keeping with her ideals. She leaves behind her siblings, Gary Bosse and his wife Angelita of Las Vegas, NV, Victoria Lee and her husband Fran of Castine, Gregory Bosse and his wife Helen of Milford and Debbie Baker and her husband Bob of Brewer; fourteen nieces and nephews and many close cousins. She was predeceased by a sister in law, Mae Cha Bosse. A graveside service will be held at Greenbush Cemetery on November 13, 2024, at 11AM in Greenbush, ME for family and friends who wish to attend. Immediately following services, a Celebration of Life will be held at the OId Town Elks Club, 37 Fourth St., Old Town, ME.
