Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Bruce Edward Wilcox, 65, who died peacefully in his sleep on May 20, 2026. He was born December 16, 1960, and grew up in Bradley, Maine, the son of Audrey and the late Charles Wilcox. Bruce was a 1979 graduate of Old Town High School. It was during his high school years that he met Lee Ann, the love of his life, whom he later married, and they shared nearly 23 years together. Bruce began his career at the local paper mill and ended it as a truck driver with UPS. He enjoyed riding his Indian motorcycle and his speed boat and spending time at his family camp on Chemo Pond. He also had a special place in his heart for German Shepherds, most recently his cherished companion, Suzy. Bruce is survived by his mother, Audrey (Brooks) Wilcox; his brother, Brian Wilcox and his wife, Paula; his nieces, Erin Wilcox DeGrasse and her husband, Brian, Lauren Wilcox, and Bonnie McLellan; his great-nephew, Charlie DeGrasse; his sister-in-law, Beth Ann McLellan and her husband, Michael; his brother-in-law, Robert Lloyd; and several close friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lee Ann, and his father, Charles Wilcox. At Bruce's request, there will be no public service. He will be laid to rest along with Lee Ann during a private burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Bradley, near his beloved grandmother, "Grammy Brooks." In honor of Bruce's memory, donations may be made to the Old Town Animal Orphanage PO Box 565 Orono, ME 04473
