MILFORD and WHITING - Barbara A. Myers, 89, passed away on July 12, 2024. She was born in Whiting on April 6, 1935, to parents Mildred (Dinsmore) and Walter Gardner. Barbara graduated from Washington Academy and married Edward Myers. After Edward returned home from serving in Korean War, the family lived for a time in Lubec before moving to Adak Alaska. Barbara worked at a laundry attendant for the Sea Bees on the military base until her retirement in 1991. Barbara and her husband moved back to Maine where they resided in Milford and wintered in Bunell, Florida. Barbara enjoyed traveling, especially road trips. Whether it be to a West Lubec Church supper or for a vacation in Florida. She enjoyed the whole trip. Barbara is remembered as a sweet, kind woman who adored spending time with her family. Barbara is survived by her children, Randy and his wife Iris Sue, Wade and his wife Mary, Terry Ann and her husband Ben; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; special nieces and nephew, Jeanine, Jody and Alan; and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Billy; and sister-in-law, June. A graveside service will be held at 10am, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Acadia National Cemetery, Jonesboro to honor the lives of both Barbara and Edward Myers.
